Ricoh eCabinet Export Tool Minimize

Ricoh's eCabinet product has reached "end of life" status, and customers are looking for a supported document management platform to take over. Unfortunately, they have thousands or millions of documents in eCabinet that need to be transferred over. Having exported and converted more than 10 eCabinets we decided to make things a little easier and write a conversion utility to do the job.

To use our tool you must first backup the eCabinet to a Windows network directory or USB portable hard-drive using the built-in NFS backup in eCabinet. We provide detailed instructions on how to do this with every migration tool purchase. Once backed up, you run our conversion tool, which is based on the 2.0 .NET framework. It will parse through the backup files and find all the folders and unique metadata fields for each folder, allowing you to choose which folders will be exported (ALL by default). As well you can choose to export eCabinet folders separately so that you can bring them into multiple Alchemy databases. eCabinet, by default, only had 1 logical file structure, nesting folders underneath the root folder. Alchemy though allows you to create multiple filing cabinets, or databases, and sometimes it just makes sense to separate them all out for security or convenience.

Once exported, you can leave it on disk, or purchase our import tools for Sharepoint/Knowledge Lake or Alchemy to migrate that data to another platform. Going to another platform? We can help you get it there.

Fill out the contact form (click here) and select eCabinet Migration Tool as the subject to get more information.

** Note that the eCabinet Migration Tool is a one-time use license to export 1 e-Cabinet. Licenses cannot be used for multiple eCabinets.
